ATE System Support Engineer - RMA repair, documentation and functions supporting repair
Location: Foothill Ranch, CA

We are currently seeking an experienced ATE System Support Engineer to operate out of our Foothill Ranch headquarters.

The role ATE Service Engineer is responsible for handling customer calls when in house within the prescribed resolution time or escalating it when all ideas are exhausted, act as a subject matter expert, and perform calibrations. When traveling, s(he) will provide world class assistance to our customers assisting with installation, calibration and troubleshooting ATE power measurement systems. The engineer will also learn Chroma’s PowerPro and Captivate software packages to the level of being able to train customers. Activities are to be accomplished per management directives and in compliance with Chroma USA policies and procedures.

This is a full time position with the opportunity to receive benefits after 90 days of employment. Benefits include: Medical, Dental, 401K, Profit Sharing, Vacation, Sick and Holiday pay.

Responsibilities
  • When not traveling, handle customer phone calls with over the phone troubleshooting and replication of customer setup to ascertain problem
  • Read schematics, apply electrical/electronic principles and troubleshoot instruments to board or component level where applicable
  • Understand and apply AC theory to customer issues involving Chroma AC power test instruments duplicating customer setups to assess issue
  • Detailed oriented for performing calibration per NIST
  • Diligent in solving and following up on customer issues
  • Become proficient with PowerPro and Captivate software
  • Continuous review for process improvements
  • Effective time management in an effort to meet or beat resolution time
  • Review of part requests’ quantities and need
  • Notify Customer Service Manager of tools/equipment needed
  • Notify Customer Service Manager of NTFs
  • Adjust priorities only by direction of Customer Service Manager
  • Notify Customer Service Manager if escalation is needed
  • Work within prescribed electrical safety rules established by OSHA
  • Diligent and detailed in adding repair information to Access or incident database
  • Any and all other duties as directed by the Customer Service Manager that are related to Chroma USA
Qualifications
  • Minimum two years of formal technical school in electricity/electronics AND
  • Five years or more experience in repair of AC power electronics OR
  • Four year degree in Electronic Technology or Electrical Engineering
  • Accredited soldering training
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively in domestic US if required
  • Capacity to work under tight or shifting deadlines and adhere to procedures
  • Professional level verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Office, Access
  • Knowledge of PowerPro and/or Captivate software a plus
  • Detail oriented

Electrical Applications Engineer - Power Conversion Test Equipment

We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Applications Engineer to operate out of our Marlborough office.

The Electrical Applications Engineer is responsible for pre-and post-sales hardware and software applications support for power conversion devices using Chroma’s instruments and Automated Test Systems (ATE). This position includes identifying best test practices with our customers and the development of application documentation and presentation. This position requires working closely with Chroma’s product line across a variety of power supply markets and emerging technologies including Solar, EV, Battery and LED.

Responsibilities
  • Pre- and post-sale internal and external support
  • Interface with sales, operations, service, and engineering teams to address customer/prospect test application issues – time on the bench is required
  • Develop documentation including application notes, white papers, FAQ’s, and technical articles
  • Engage with manufacturing facility to define and apply new test methodologies using latest system architecture
  • Conduct product demos in customer facilities or online
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills required
Qualifications
  • BSEE with minimum of 2 years of experience is desirable
  • The ideal candidate will have experience on various ATE platforms and proven track record of the ability to identify and communicate turnkey test solutions
  • Knowledge of LabView and experience with automated test software is desirable
  • Some travel required

Responsibilities
  • Post-sales support of test systems for customers throughout US and Canada
  • Specifications review, benchmark testing and software/hardware technical support
Qualifications
  • BS in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience in an Engineering or related field desired
  • Excellent communications skills (both oral and written) and well organized
  • Excellent phone presence, etiquette, and professionalism
  • Working knowledge of power supplies/electronics and related test equipment (AC Sources, DC Sources, AC/DC Electronic Loads, oscilloscopes, DMMs. function generators)
  • Working knowledge of industry standard software packages (C++ or LabVIEW)
  • Basic understanding of aerospace, automotive, battery, LED, medical, solar and strong knowledge in power supply applications
