Our programmable DC Power Supplies are commonly used in automated testing systems and bench top applications for DC-DC converters, Telecom, Battery charge and simulation, Automotive, Solar panel simulation, Burn-in, and plating/electrolysis applications. These variable DC Power Supplies range from 600W to 5000W. Constant power operating envelope, current range up to 160A and high precision current read back make these power sources ideal for automatic test system applications as well as benchtop applications.

  • The 62000P Series DC Power Supply includes 9 different models ranging from 600W to 5000W, up to 120A and up to 600V. Due to their constant power operating envelope a single instrument can provide both high voltage/low current and low voltage/high current thereby reducing the number of supplies needed in typical ATE and benchtop applications.

    Advantages include precision readback of output current and voltage, output trigger signals as well as the ability to create complex DC transients waveforms to test device behavior to spikes, drops, and other voltage deviations. Designed for automated testing DC-DC converters and similar products. 600W to 5000W constant power designs are available ranging up to 600V and 120A. GPIB, RS232 and USB control options are available as are Labview Softpanels.

    Features and Benefits

    This DC power supply includes many unique features not generally available in other commercial power supplies on the market:

    1) Constant power operating envelope: Provides higher currents at lower voltages. This means that one power supply can do the job of two or three conventional supplies. No longer to you need to buy both high current/low voltage and low current/high voltage supplies to test a family of converters.

    2) High Accuracy current readback: This means that current shunts/mux/DMMs are no longer needed to measure the converter's input current accurately which is critical to good efficiency measurements. Therefore work benches and test systems are less complex, less costly and can cover a wider range of converters.

    3) DC Transients: The 62000P provides programmable control over voltage and current rise and falls times. This allows complex dc transients to be generated which are not possible with conventional power supplies. Supports:

  • Automotive transient testing per ISO16750-2
  • Avionics - Mil-Std-704
  • Shipboard - DO-160
  • 4) Output Trigger: The 62000P provides output trigger timing and precision event capturing. Ideal for ATE systems desiring to capture oscilloscope waveforms.

    5) VID Control: Instruments include 8 independent programmable TTL signals which can be used for VID control or any general purpose logic controls.

    6) Softpanels: Advanced Labview graphical control panels allows for simple and efficient control and data gathering for the 62000P supplies.

  • Chroma's new 62000B series of Modular DC Power Supplies offer many unique features for Burn-in and plating/electrolysis applications. The features include a N+1 redundancy, high power densities, hot-swappable maintenance, remote ON/OFF and programmable control via the CAN bus.

    The 62000B family offers 5 types of power module with ranging from 1V to 150V, current from 10A to 90A, and offers two mainframe type of six and three position. The six position mainframe can envelop in up to six power modules paralleled operation for 9KW power output. The 62000B can easily parallel up to fourteen mainframe to 120KW with current sharing and CAN bus control for bulk power applications.
