The position reports directly to the Operations Director. This position’s main responsibility is to maintain the company’s inventory level at a 95% to 98% level, as measured by a Cycle Count Program. In addition to the warehouse functions of inventory management, shipping, and receiving, this position is also responsible for maintaining, monitoring and implementing the companies Safety/OSHA Policies in accordance with our “Injury & Illness Prevention Program (IIPP).


  • Inventory Management of Production & Service Inventories using MAS 200

    • Achieve and maintain 95% to 98% inventory levels in corporate warehouse
    • Manage cycle counting functions & resolve identified inventory issues
    • Insure parts labeled with bar codes and serial numbers
    • Minimize & maintain inventory write ups/downs
    • Maintain/clear MRB & resolve identified issues in timely manner (< 30 days)
    • Hiring/firing & reviews for staff on-time to employees
    • Coordinate inventory production movements & statues with WIP, order processing, accounting and service
    • Constant review and enhancement of inventory planning, tracking, and management functions
    • Document and maintain inventory & shipping/receiving processes
    • Maintain warehouse tools & equipment in safe, operating condition
    • Tracking of bar coded companies fixed assets through MAS 200 Fixed Assets Module
    • Maintain warehouse in orderly fashion, making best use of space and facility space planning
  • Shipping

    • Goal of 0% shipping errors as measured by customer returns
    • Insure correct processes, minimize costs, document and maintain trained staff
    • Insure safety is managed and maintained at highest levels through monitoring and training
    • Insure quality product is shipped on-time and at the highest quality levels
  • Receiving

    • Insure correct processes, minimize receiving issues, monitor SCD, and maintain trained staff
    • Insure incoming product has correct bar code and documentation
    • Implement receiving inspection process with appropriate staffing to support plan
    • Insure safety is managed and maintained at highest levels through monitoring and training
  • Safety

    • Run safety programs for company and support quality programs as required
    • Maintain/train staff to meet audit requirements
    • Insure employee training is on-going and meets documented goals & objectives
    • Monitor, update, and create safety procedures where required
    • Provide safety directions and leadership to all Chroma operations
    • Enhance, refine, and grow safety requirements as business demands change

Other Duties:

  • Implement new cycle count program for monitoring company inventory levels
  • Evaluate and implement bar code technology in warehouse to improve accuracy and data entry functions
  • Work with Operations Director to improve communication with the Chroma management team
  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement new receiving inspection functionality
  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement new shipping inspection functionality
  • Work with quality audit group to identify issues and improve results in support of quality program
  • Improve working relationship with company accounting group for better inventory management
  • Administrative duties like reviews, recommendations, analysis, training, and procedure development
  • Assist management in developing material forecasting functions by providing “run rate” information of inventory

Qualification Requirements:

  • Must possess excellent interpersonal relations and written/oral communication skills to communicate with both internal and external contacts in the organization including families, vendors, and government agencies
  • Well organized with strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to gather, interpret, and proactively act on data with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to demonstrate and have a good working knowledge of MAS 200, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Must have ability and desire to continue to learn and update knowledge of warehouse supervision functions
  • High sense of urgency with ability to work in a fast-paced team environment anticipating and adjusting to challenges
  • Able to follow directions, manage multiple tasks, and respond to urgent requests in a positive manner
  • Basic knowledge of bar code functionality and capabilities
  • Understanding of Safety & Quality Objectives and Importance in a Warehouse Environment

Physical Requirements

  • This position spends approximately 50% of the day at a desk working in front of computer
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. in warehouse situation
  • Must be able to sit, stand, bend, and walk in the course of their normal duties
  • Must have good vision for close up computer work (with or without the aid of eye glasses or contact lenses)
  • Must be able to speak and communicate verbally with co-workers, customers, vendors, etc.

Working Conditions

    • Warehouse environment, including shipping/receiving dock
    • Must be able to work between the hours of 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 pm. Overtime may be required at times to support operation of warehouse and production
    • Must be self-motivated, organized, and able to manage time effectively

Desirable Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • High school graduate required
  • A college degree preferred and/or 5 years of experience running warehouse functions in similar size company
  • Working knowledge of ERP/MRP System required along with automated warehouse management functions
  • Working knowledge of bar code technology in a warehouse environment is a plus
  • APICS certification a plus
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, or a permanent resident
