DC to DC Converters (DC2DC) are devices used to convert one DC voltage to another. Also referred to as Point of Load (POL), Power Over Ethernet (POE), Brick, and Voltage regulators etc. These are used in a wide variety of products from portable devices such as Cell Phones, Notebooks and Laptop computers to Electric Vehicles and Avionics. They are also used in distributed power for telecom, data communications, medical and industrial applications. The range of input voltages and output voltages and power can vary greatly. The following test descriptions are typical of most DC2DC converter’s, but is not intended to be all inclusive.
