Chroma has introduced a battery reliability test system integrated with EIS functionality, enabling automated switching between DC charge/discharge and AC impedance measurements. This innovation eliminates the need for separate EIS testing stations: battery connections are made once with no need for repeated handling or rewiring, which significantly reduces labor demands and operational errors.
The Chroma 8630 BMS Power HIL Testbed incorporates this technology to form a complete BMS test platform by combining cell simulators with virtual DUTs. This supports dynamic real and virtual scenarios, fault injection, and model integration testing, significantly reducing cost of test and making it a highly efficient tool for battery development and testing.
The Chroma 8630 BMS Power Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) Testbed provides a Pack Voltage and Isolation Impedance Simulator that allows users to easily perform the tests mentioned above. The programmable voltage simulator enables replication of various voltage drops caused by poor connections.
BatteryPro continuously receives and processes the BMS data used to monitor battery temperature and voltage. It also utilizes BMS signals with a user-defined unique identifier (ID) to receive BMS data under constant current (CC), constant current-constant voltage (CC-CV), constant power (CP), or constant voltage (CV) mode.
