Chroma’s Automated Test System (ATS) is designed for full function testing of ac level 1 and level 2 EVSE (Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment) defined by SAE J1772. The system integrates Chroma’s programmable ac sources to simulate the grid voltage variation. It controls the ac electronic load simulating the current loading state of an onboard charger. A switchable resistor board and oscilloscope are used to test compatibility of the control pilot signal between the EVSE and EV. Test items include voltage interrupt, pulse-width modulation (PWM) duty cycle, contact open, over current protection, etc. This ATS features open-architecture platform software, allowing users to expand test functions in the future.
Chroma Offers High-Efficiency AC Test Solutions for EU and US BOBCs
The Chroma 61815, a 3U/15kVA high power density grid simulator, addresses these challenges with versatility. It can function both as an AC source to simulate utility power and, with an optional AC load mode, mimic household appliances or other load characteristics.
