Chroma’s Automated Test System (ATS) is designed for full function testing of ac level 1 and level 2 EVSE (Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment) defined by SAE J1772. The system integrates Chroma’s programmable ac sources to simulate the grid voltage variation. It controls the ac electronic load simulating the current loading state of an onboard charger. A switchable resistor board and oscilloscope are used to test compatibility of the control pilot signal between the EVSE and EV. Test items include voltage interrupt, pulse-width modulation (PWM) duty cycle, contact open, over current protection, etc. This ATS features open-architecture platform software, allowing users to expand test functions in the future.
Contribution of Capacitance Measurement to the Quality Control of Winding and Stacking in Lithium-ion Battery Cells
Applying a sufficiently high test voltage and detecting electrical flashovers during the test can help to identify defective cells that pose a risk of future internal short circuits (due to partial punctures or perforations in the separator).
